Code of Practice Cards

There are four Codes of Practices pocket cards : 

Young People First – “Yellow Card”
Guidance for Young Leaders – “Orange Card”
Safe Scouting and Emergency Procedures – “Purple Card”
Scouting and Alcohol a Checklist for Adults – “Green Card”

Young People First – “Yellow Card”

To give positive guidance, the ‘Young People First’ code of practice (also known as the yellow card) sets out a code of behavior for all adults in Scouting.

Every adult should have a copy of the ‘Young People First’ code of practice. It is designed so you can keep it with you at all times during Scouting activities.

Guidance for Young Leaders – “Orange Card”

This is the equivalent of the Yellow Card but for Young Leaders

Safe Scouting and Emergency Procedures (“Purple Card”)

The purple card provides support for safe Scouting and guidance in the procedures for dealing with an emergency.


Scouting and Alcohol a Checklist for Adults (“Green Card”)


This card sets out our policy on alcohol for all adults involved in Scouting.
